Laura Bromwich

Since receiving an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from McMaster University in 2011, Laura has pursued a career in printmaking which includes an art practice and teaching as a faculty instructor at Dundas Valley School of Art. Laura researches, utilizes and teaches non-toxic printmaking as a part of her artistic practice.
Laura has travelled internationally to attend non-toxic print residencies in Buenos Aires, Argentina at Proyecto Ace and the School of Visual Arts silk screening program in Manhattan, New York. She has exhibited internationally including in New York and Buenos Aires as well as at numerous local galleries. She’s created art installations for Toronto’s Nuit Blanche and Luminato’s The Encampment exhibit. Her work has been purchased by the City of Hamilton as part of their Public Art program. Laura continues to complete commissions for both corporate and private collectors.
BACKGROUND & TRAINING
Laura’s teaching practice at DVSA strives to enhance and expand the artistic development of emerging and established artists/printmakers through the refinement of techniques and the introduction of new methods, materials and ideas. She loves to bring printmaking to beginners with a user friendly step-by-step process in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Through various grants at DVSA, she has designed and implemented community programming including The War of 1812: A Women’s Perspective and ArtAdventures for CityHousing Hamilton where she acted as program co-ordinator. Laura has also taught various DVSA workshops with community partners including the Kawanis Boys and Girls Club, the Down’s Syndrome Society, Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Dundas Museum and Archives.
