ABOUT
An Unexpected Delivery

A few weeks before our April auction, we got word that a package addressed to DVSA was being held at customs, waiting on duties to be paid. We hadn’t ordered anything from overseas, so we decided to leave it. A few days later, the duties were mysteriously paid, and the package arrived at our door—full of artwork.

Inside were 23 pieces by 11 artists from across Indonesia, all hoping to take part in the DVSA Auction. (We can now officially say we’ve gone global!) The artists belong to HOCA (House of Creative Artist), a collective of artists from Indonesia, China and Australia who work in a wide range of styles and disciplines.

Sadly, we couldn’t include their work in the auction. (The timing was too late and as a registered charity, we face challenges sending proceeds to anyone outside Canada). But once we saw the pieces and considered the time and care it took to send them across the world, we were determined to find another way to share them with our community.

This exhibition is the result.

Interested in purchasing a piece? Please contact Yere Agusto, HOCA’s representative, at hoca.families@gmail.com to ask about pricing and arrange payment. Once Yere confirms a purchase with us, we’ll get the artwork ready for you.
