Since 1964, Dundas Valley School of Art (DVSA) has been a vibrant hub for learning and creative expression through the visual arts, inspiring over 8,500 students annually in more than 500 classes across a wide range of art mediums. Located in a historic building in the heart of Dundas, our school is dedicated to fostering artistic growth, community engagement, and accessible arts education.
DVSA is seeking 2 part-time Front Desk Reception staff to cover the following shifts:
Regular Hours
Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Monday: 3:30p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 3:30p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 3:30p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Thursday: 3:30p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Friday: 3:30p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Summer Hours (July & August)
Tuesday to Thursday: 3:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
This position is responsible for handling front office reception and administration duties, including greeting students, answering phones, processing registrations and various sales transactions, as well as handling basic inquiries. While the position is primarily late afternoon and evenings, there are also some additional shifts for special events, vacation coverage, etc.
The role of Front Desk Reception includes:

Answering inquiries about DVSA and School programs

Greeting visitors/students

Scheduling models

Ensuring the reception area is organized

Taking registrations (phone) or troubleshooting registrations (online)

Processing various sales items

Co-ordinating mailings

Data entry of Auction contracts

Opening/Closing the facility

Performing basic bookkeeping and clerical duties

Taking and relaying messages

Scheduling volunteers

Other office duties as required
Required Skills:

Must be comfortable working in a computerized workflow and have experience with Microsoft Office products

Prior sales transaction experience
