Edward Eastman
Photographing for over 40 years, Edward studied/graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University from the Photography programme. He worked in Montreal for a number of years for a local photographer as the darkroom lab technician and photographic assistant.
After moving back to Ontario, Edward continued his photography on a personal level submitting images to local magazines garnering a number of cover images. In the early 90s, Edward joined the Latow Camera Club at the Art Gallery of Burlington (AGB) leading the Studio Group for 5 years. Edward taught a variety of photography courses at Beaux-Arts, Brampton, Joshua Creek Heritage Arts Centre (JCHAC), the Art Gallery of Burlington and here at the Dundas Valley School of Art.
Edward enjoys teaching photography and believes it’s a journey of discovery for both student and teacher alike.
“As a photographer, I strive to see the unusual in the common, the extra-ordinary in the everyday and the unknown in the familiar.”
My tools are my imagination, a digital camera, a computer darkroom and a passion to make art that touches my spirit.
“The artist is a receptacle for the emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.” – Pablo Picasso
