Cathy Lorraway
SCA, PAC
Cathy’s art is inspired by her love of nature, travel and conservation. Her vibrant colourful landscapes capture the changing light, colours and beauty of four seasons. Cathy combines plein air painting and on location studies with studio time using pastels, acrylics and oils, often experimenting with processes, colour schemes, grounds and underpaintings to help portray the story of a place in time.
A lifelong learner, her painting process and style has evolved and been shaped by her studies at the Ontario College of Art Drawing and Painting program (A.O.C.A) and BFA. She is also a graduate of University of Toronto (BEd) University of Ottawa (BA in English) as well as a student of DVSA. She is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and Colour and Form Society and has been honoured to participate in international, national and local juried shows earning Pastel Artist Canada (PAC) Signature status.
A former high school art and photography teacher for three decades, she enjoys connecting with kindred spirits in her local art communities as well as helping to curate, judge and hang local exhibitions.
