Our Little Black Frame Mystery Art Night fundraiser is set for Saturday, November 8th, 2025 here at Dundas Valley School of Art and we’re levelling things up with a few new surprises. Not only will there be another remarkable display of artwork from this year’s participating artists, but we’re adding Live Art Making and Live Performances to the night. This year our guest emcee will be Emily Vukovic from CHCH Morning Live.

Little Black Frame is a variation on the art draw format. When you hear your number, you’ll have the chance to choose your favourite stunning art piece from a selection of 150+ unique works, each one showcased in a little black frame. Created by established and emerging artists, you won’t know who made your masterpiece until it’s in your hands.
All proceeds from Little Black Frame help support DVSA’s groundbreaking hands-on art programs for participants of all ages and backgrounds. Help us to continue enriching the lives of those in greater Hamilton through the visual arts.
Tickets
Each ticket includes food, drink, live entertainment and a fabulous piece of artwork.* There’s also a Couple’s Ticket which includes food, drink and 1 fabulous piece of art to share.
Be sure to get your ticket to secure a piece of art AND so you can take part in the festivities and excitement of the night!
*Note: tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable
How the event works:

Artwork previews begin online so participants can begin choosing favourites.

Show up on the big night to preview all the artwork in person, enjoy our Black Frame cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and enjoy the live art making and performances.

Artwork Selection begins at 8:00 p.m. when numbers are selected. Listen for your lucky number and then choose a favourite artwork from the gallery wall. As pieces are claimed, they will be removed, allowing participants to know which pieces are still available.

Take your chosen artwork home with you that evening.
