Art Skills Certificate Program

ABOUT Our Certificate Program

The DVSA Art Skills Certificate Program ensures a wide-ranging education in studio art practice. Offered in collaboration with Ontario College of Art and Design (OCADU) Continuing Education, the certificate program provides an informal training environment in which to hone your art skills.

Please note: The DVSA Art Skills Certificate Program is different from our Studio Fine Art Practice & Theory Diploma Program. You can learn more about that option here.

Set your own path and learn at your own pace. Emphasizing hands-on learning in the visual arts, the Art Skills Certificate Program provides a structure of required courses and electives. While some specific courses and media are required, there are plenty of choices and electives. You can take the courses in any order you wish and there is no time limit for completion.

The program is ideal if you want to expand your art making skills, build a portfolio or simply gain a solid introduction to key art concepts and techniques in a broad range of media.

Upon meeting the program requirements and finishing all the courses, eligible students will receive a Dundas Valley School of Art Certificate of Completion. This certificate acknowledges the successful completion of introductory training in the visual arts from an independent art school with a long-standing reputation for excellence.
