A) DVSA is looking for a RECE Before and After School Educator  

This position is for March Break 2023
March 13–17, 2023 

Hourly rate: $20 per hour 

Before-camp programs begin at 7:30 am and run until 9:00 am. Our after-camp program begins when art camp finishes, around 3:30 pm, and runs until 6:00 pm.  

What are we Looking For? 

To be considered for this role, the right candidate will have the following qualifications: 

Experience: Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children OR related experience in a childcare setting, working with school age children 


  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • We may consider those with the following Diploma: Child & Youth Worker, OCT – Teacher, Education Assistant, Social Worker, Recreation & Leisure


  • Member in good standing with College of ECE’s 
  • Standard First Aid with CPR level C 
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check 
  • Proof of up-to-date immunization for TB, Tetanus and MMR


  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment 
  • Flexible environment with minimal supervision 
  • An advocate for diversity, equality, and inclusion

What will you be doing?  

You will be responsible for the ongoing operation of our Before & After Camp childcare for approximately 20 children aged 4 + years of age and the opening and closing of our facility.

B) DVSA is looking for an Afternoon/Evening Receptionist 

Dundas Valley School of Art is looking for an Afternoon/Evening Receptionist responsible for handling front office reception and administration duties, including greeting students, answering phones, handling basic inquiries and registrations, and dealing with sales of books, clay and art. While the position is primarily later afternoon and evenings, there are also some additional shifts for special events, vacation coverage, etc.

The role of the Receptionist includes:

  • Answering phones
  • Answering inquiries about DVSA and School programs
  • Greeting visitors/students
  • Scheduling models
  • Ensuring the reception area is organized
  • Taking registrations (phone) or troubleshooting registrations (online)
  • Co-ordinate mailings
  • Opening/Closing the facility
  • Performing basic bookkeeping and clerical duties
  • Taking and relaying messages
  • Scheduling volunteers
  • Other office duties as required

Required Skills

  • Must be comfortable working in a computerized workflow and have experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Customer service experience
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Problem solving skills

C) DVSA is looking for a Full-Time Bookkeeper

Founded in 1964, Dundas Valley School of Art (DVSA) is a registered charity, with an operating budget of approximately $3M, a 14 person administrative staff and 100 part time Faculty members.  Supported by a new strategic plan, DVSA is committed to nurturing an equitable, diverse and inclusive environment for everyone who learns and works at the school.

Purpose of the Role – The Bookkeeper will report to the Executive Director (ED) who is accountable for all DVSA operational leadership and management issues.  They will assist the ED and Administrative Directors to develop and manage workable budgets, expenditures and cash outlays.  The Bookkeeper will process all daily transactions and reconciliations ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies including CRA, provincial and municipal offices. They will be responsible for regulatory filings, processing payroll, data entry, preparation of internal financial reports and working with auditors.

Salary – DVSA offers a competitive salary based on experience as well as an excellent benefits package including a pension plan.

Hours – Full time permanent, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

  1. Processing daily transactions including:
    • Accounts Payable and Receivable
    • Credit Card processing including reconciliations
    • Bank Reconciliations
    • Daily batch entries
    • Journal Entries
    • Cashflow including investments
  2. Grant Financial Management:
    • Grant Budgeting
    • Grant reconciliations
    • Grant reporting
  3. Financial Reporting including:
    • Internal Financial Statements for Management
    • Budget creation and management
  4. Payroll including:
    • Processing bi-weekly payroll
    • Payroll remittances
    • Benefit management
  5. Administrative responsibilities:
    • Filing financial reports and supporting documents
    • Management of confidential documents


  1. University degree or college diploma in Accounting/Business
  2. 5 plus years bookkeeping experience
  3. 3 – 5 years working in a not-for-profit environment would be an asset
  4. Proficient in all Microsoft products – intermediate to advanced excel experience required with Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred
  5. Experience working with Auditors
  6. Good written and verbal communication
  7. Ability to work collaboratively
  8. Diverse experience using various digital tools
