Art Camp Counsellors
Experienced counsellors are needed to help run our 2018 Summer Art Camps program for children and teens. Ideal applicants will:
- Be 18+ years of age
- Be available from July 3 to August 31, 2018
- Enjoy being part of a high-functioning and fun team
- Enjoy art and working with kids
You must be currently in school full time and returning to school full time in the fall in order to qualify for our grant funding.

DVSA requires a Library/History/Museum Studies Student to undertake a review and cataloguing of the School’s archival holdings. These materials include articles, slides, DVDs, photographs, legal and financial documents and other forms of historical records. The position will develop an archival database, along with a resource inventory.
This 6-7 week position is funded through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport and the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services. (Summer Experience Program, 2018)
The Archival Technician will be required to:
-Undertake a full inventory of the School’s archival materials
-Complete a condition report on holdings
-Develop an inventory of resources
-Confer with Dundas Museum and Archives re: donation of any de-accessioned materials they may wish to accession and oversee the transfer of such resources
-Train staff and library volunteers in all new processes, systems, and software
Through the range of projects involved in updating the DVSA archival holdings, including the development of processes and procedures, the student will shift from theoretical understanding of library services to a fully practical working knowledge.
This will include:
-Project planning and management
-Record and holdings inventory
-Database management and updates
-Condition reporting on a range of materials: books, journals, magazines, photographs, DVDs, etc.
-De-accessioning processes and procedures including legal, ethical and financial implications of removing materials from the collection
-Best practices in knowledge transfer through the planning, development and delivery of training to staff and volunteers.
Summer Experience Program Eligibility Criteria:
All students must be currently enrolled in a secondary, or post-secondary institution or within six months of graduation and have reached the age of 15 and not yet reached the age of 25 upon commencement of employment or up to 29 years for persons with a disability, if disabled, within the meaning of s.10 of the Ontario Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.19, as amended from time to time.
Students must be employed full time for a minimum employment contract length of 217.5 hours or 30 days at 7.25 hours per day.
Proof of student enrolment must be provided to the employer.
Students must be residents of Ontario during the period of employment.
Students must be eligible to work in Canada and have a Social Insurance Number (SIN).
