Another record attendance, more record funds raised and the biggest payout to our artists ever – it’s clear DVSA’s Annual Art Auction has grown its reach as the must-attend art purchasing event for the Hamilton region. We plan to keep the momentum going on April 5, 2018 when we kick off our 48th edition. Please consider showing your support by submitting a donation of artwork to our most important fundraising event of the year.
Now recognized as the largest art auction in the Hamilton-Wentworth region, last year’s event raised over $300,000 – well exceeding the previous year’s record. Our auction studios were packed once again with inspired artwork and thousands of art buyers, many of them new to the auction experience. The funds raised from the success of these three days enables the School to continue fulfilling its mission of championing creativity and offering high quality and accessible visual arts programming for our students.
This year, the marquee Live Auction Night will be held on April 7, 2018 with previews on April 5, 6, and 7. May we count on your support? If so, all information about submitting artwork, including contracts and submission guidelines, is included here in our Artist Submission Package. Submitted pieces may be a full donation or you may choose to have 50% of the selling price returned to you and receive a tax receipt for the amount donated to the school (with a minimum value of $20 per item).
As you know, it is impossible for non-profit organizations to mount such ambitious fundraising events as the Annual Art Auction without a strong base of support and generosity from the artist community.
