1933 – 2025
With deep sadness we share the news of the passing of a DVSA legend – former employee, student and long-time volunteer and supporter, Maria Ferretti-Perrins. We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to her sons and extended family.
Maria had a profound love for art and that passion is imbued throughout DVSA. Many will remember her in her shop, surrounded by art supplies, happily chatting with friends and customers. Many will remember her significant talents as an artist, a student of painting, drawing and art history. We’ll remember her working at the school front desk and her lunchtime treat of pop, chips and the daily crossword. And then, there was her role as an Art Auction stalwart, contributing to all facets of the event– install, the Live Night and in the gallery with her ledger book, carefully noting the intake of each artwork. As we prepare to launch our 54th Art Auction, her spirit continues to guide this annual celebration of the visual arts – and we are determined to do her proud. Rest in peace, beloved Maria.
