We’re Hiring For March Break – Art Camp Counsellors and Before & After School Childcare

For our upcoming March Break session, March 10-14, 2025, there are two position openings: 

Art Camp Counsellors
Before & After School Childcare Educator

 


 

Art Camp Counsellors 

DVSA is looking for experienced counsellors to help run our 2025 Children & Teen March Break Art Camps. Ideal applicants will: 

  • Be between 16 and 30 years of age (in order to be eligible for our grant funding) 
  • Be available from Monday, March 10 to Friday, March 15, 2025, 8:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 
  • Enjoy being part of a high-functioning and fun team 
  • Enjoy art and working with kids 

Pay: $17.20 per hour

Before and After School Childcare Educator  

DVSA is also looking for a Before and After School Childcare Educator for the upcoming March Break, March 10 – 14, 2025. 

You will be responsible for the ongoing operation of our Before & After Camp childcare with approximately 20 children ages 4+ years.  

Before camp programs begin at 7:30 a.m. and run until 9:00 a.m. – our After-camp program begins at 3:30 p.m. and runs until 6:00 p.m. Responsibilities also include opening and closing the school facility.  

Hourly rate: $20 per hour 

To be considered for this role, the right candidate will have the following qualifications: 

 

Experience:  
  • Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children OR Related experience in a childcare setting, working with school age children 
Education:   
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education 
  • We may consider those with the following Diploma: Child & Youth Worker, OCT – Teacher, Education Assistant, Social Worker, Recreation & Leisure
Certifications: 
  • Standard First Aid with CPR level C  
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check  
  • Proof of up-to-date immunization for TB, Tetanus and MMR
 Characteristics: 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision  
  • An advocate for diversity, equality, and inclusion
