With profound sadness we share the news of the passing of our former Executive Director, Arthur Greenblatt. We want to express our heartfelt condolences to Arthur’s wife, Sandy, his children Cliff, Brian, Josh, Rosie and Lilly, and all their extended family.

Jovial, warm and never short of a good tale, Arthur came to DVSA in 2000 from his position as President at the Alberta College of Art and Design. He drove significant progress during his tenure at DVSA, increasing the school’s exposure and doubling annual registrations. He also oversaw a major renovation to the school in 2010 that expanded the facility and established a foundation for the programming we are able to provide today. Most importantly, Arthur created an ongoing atmosphere at DVSA that mirrored his magnetic charisma – a love for art, community, friendship and fun.

Words cannot express our sorrow. Rest in peace, beloved Arthur. A Celebration of Life is planned for the spring – details will be shared at a later date.
